Janae Paquin-Bowden Pottery

Janae Paquin-Bowden, based in Lyonville, Victoria, finds her creative passion in the intimate artistry of ceramics. Her journey into clay began during her studies in Visual Arts at Deakin University, where she majored in Ceramics, later completing her degree at Latrobe University while traveling globally. After teaching primary school and starting a family, Janae shifted her career in 2016, co-founding a successful flower farm with her husband. Surrounded by natural beauty, she rediscovered her ceramic roots and in 2021, fulfilled her dream of establishing a studio on the farm, steps away from home.

Inspired by the seasonal rhythms of nature and the vibrant flowers surrounding her, Janae's creative process draws from historical ceramics like intricate delftware from the 16th and 17th centuries. She envisions each piece as a vessel overflowing with blooms, crafted with deliberate, reflective "slow" craftsmanship that mirrors the changing seasons.
