Remain is an oil and wax based colour pencil drawing on Italian 300GSM hot pressed paper. It represents an unconventional still life scene with long shadows that indicate the passing of time. The unusual blue colouring and the deep shadows create a surreal effect to an otherwise ordinary scene. This drawing took over 50 hours to complete, utilising the burnishing technique which requires multiple layers of pencil shading.
