Miimi is an unframed Limited Edition Giclee Art Print by contemporary Aboriginal artist Lou Martin, originally painted with acrylic on canvas. Artwork is unframed and shipped in industrial strength art tube.
Miimi translates to sister in the Wiradjuri language. Central to the painting is a contemporary representation of the traditional Aboriginal symbol for people sitting. As traditional roles would stipulate, women would care for children, gather bush tucker and prepare food. In doing so, the women would congregate and sit together in somewhat of a sisterhood. Painted in a pastel palette, this is a contemporary representation of women helping out other women.
