"Find Your Happy" is an original painting by contemporary Aboriginal artist, Lou Martin.
This painting is about finding the positives in every situation, seeking out what nourishes your soul and all that protects your mental health. Every aspect are inclusions of what brings me a personal sense of happiness.
Central to the painting is a cirlcle representing community, the pink U-shapes surrounding it symbolises the people within your community - a safe space to yarn and open up about what weighs heavy on your mind, providing comfort and clarity. The small white U-shapes (on beige mountains) are representative of our ancestors still guiding us. Wildflowers provide a sense of peace; delicate and beautiful, bringing you to a pause to admire. Kangaroo tracks under the stars are a very personal memory of a secret field where I would take my children when they were young. The colour palette is deliberately bright, yet calming. This is a detailed, complex piece however every part of it is designed to find my own happiness and encourages the viewer to find their happy.
