"Checking In" is an original painting by contemporary Aboriginal artist, Lou Martin.
Checking In acknowledges the struggles we all have from time to time and is a reminder to check on your people. The U shapes in the centre are people coming together to reconnect. The kangaroo tracks are indicative that like humans, kangaroos remain in cohesive groups, are social, and remain together for protection and engagement. They check in on each other as part of their responsibility to each other. The small U shapes serve as a reminder of all those who came before us, still present and watching over us.
