Malangun is an unframed Limited Edition Giclee Art Print by contemporary Aboriginal artist Lou Martin, originally painted with acrylic on canvas. Artwork is unframed and shipped in industrial strength art tube.
Malangun in Wiradjuri translates simply to 'Girl'. This piece depicts a contemporary adaption for the traditional symbol for people sitting, as each U shape represents a person. In traditional Aboriginal culture, it was the women who primarily cared for their babies, and were often assisted by other women.
