This handwoven piece from Hands Weave Hello has been made using glass beads and plant-based yarns sourced directly from stores in Kyoto and Tokyo during the artist's recent travels.

Slow, intricate and mindful making sits at the core of this work—an ethic shaped by the artist's time in Japan. The materials act as both origin and collaborator, carrying the energies of place, tradition, and encounter, while the weaving process becomes a gentle translation of that experience into form.

The glass beads are woven and looped around the foraged bamboo rod, while the fine yarn is intertwined onto a black wire warp to support its structure. The work can be hung from a hook or nail.

A beautiful balance of natural fibres and delicate embellishment, this one-of-a-kind piece brings an understated elegance and a sense of story to any interior.
