I live and paint on Dja Dja Wurrung land in the village of Woodend, with my hubby, 3 children, chooks, puppy and a horse. Travel has always been a constant in my life for both leisure and employment, alone or with friends and family. My art focuses on the visual mementos of places visited. Using unexpected colour and gestural flowing strokes, seen patterns of places play with colour to invoke the mood of a memory. My art is, I'd say, happy, patterned, always a memory of place, likely to include an animal or bird, and heartfelt. I lean towards using charcoal and chalk for sketching then using acrylic for painting.
