Ceramic work by Margie Delahunty Spencer. Margie is a local Australian artist and has been represented nationally and internationally, she is well known for her bold coloured semi -abstracts created using large gestural marks. Margie works full time as an artist in her purpose built studio. She finds inspiration from her love of the coast, family, gardens and interiors.
This work is one of a series created called the sister pots. These vessels are non functional pieces fired to earthenware temperatures, and hand built and painted. They are named after her five sisters and her mother.
The works are a joyous interpretation of her beautiful bond with her sisters.
