Eddie is a sculpture cast from Australian Native Banksia and gumnuts. This series of sculptures pays tribute to the uniquely Australian, iconic silhouettes of the banksias and gumnuts. The forms have echoes of May Gibb's banksia men but a glamorous, feminine version. The gumnuts are placed to create faces and give the sculptures character.
Eddie is a solid bronze sculpture. Casting bronze is an ancient and labour intensive process, with each sculpture taking 15 hours of work at the foundry to complete. Eddie is a one-off, original, collectable piece of art, 24cm high, 7cm wide.
