FRAMED

A framed original artwork refers to an art piece that has been professionally enclosed in a timber frame, such as an oak timber shadow box frame. This style of frame adds depth by spacing the artwork slightly away from the edge of the stretched canvas or mounted paper with glass, creating a clean, modern look while protecting the piece. 

UNFRAMED

An unframed original painting refers to an artwork that has been professionally stretched over a timber stretcher bar, without an external decorative frame. While it doesn’t have a traditional outer frame, the canvas is tightly mounted and ready to hang as is, offering a clean, modern presentation that highlights the edges of the artwork.

READY TO HANG

A ready to hang original artwork is fully prepared for immediate display. For canvas pieces, this means the artwork is professionally stretched over a timber stretcher bar and does not include an outer timber frame, creating a clean and taut surface. It also comes fitted with secure hanging hardware—such as a wire, D-rings, or hooks—so you can hang it straight on the wall, right out of the box. 

UNFRAMED & ROLLED IN TUBE

This means the original painting is not framed and has been carefully rolled inside a tube with protective layers for safe transportation. This is common for oversees shipments to save on freight costs. Once the customer receives the tube, the artwork should then be opened by a professional framer as soon as possible, to avoid any potential damage. Canvas and Paper artworks are fragile and must be treated with professional care.

FINE ART PRINTS

UNFRAMED

This means the fine art print on paper or canvas is not framed or ‘stretched’ and is carefully rolled inside a tube with protective layers for safe transportation to customer. Once the customer receives the tube, the artwork should then be opened by a professional framer as soon as possible, to avoid any potential damage. Canvas and Paper fine art prints are fragile and must be treated with professional care.

FRAMED

A framed print has been professionally mounted inside a timber frame. For a canvas print this means it is stretched and framed with an outer shadow box timber frame. For a paper print, this means it is covered by glass or perspex, with or without a mat board and an outer timber frame.
