Bedroom Colour Psychology

Colour psychology in the bedroom is all about setting the right mood for rest, intimacy, and relaxation. If you're struggling for colour combos for a relaxing bedroom, here are some you can steal:

Pink, chocolate brown and turmeric -
a soothing hug with a sprinkle of spice

Mint green, sky blue and cream -
like floating on a cloud in a warm spring sky

Earthy purples and pure white -
it gives a moody vibe with an edgy elegance

Murky green and gold -
earthy calm with a golden glow

Deep blue and aubergine -
the tranquility of deep sea with a grounding of nature

Come with us as we help you build your dream bedroom colour palette!

STEP ONE

Start with the season you’re in! We're in Victoria and it’s freeeeeeeezing. So we're currently leaning towards those cozy, deep hues and adding more layers to make things snug. Let the changing seasons inspire your space!

STEP TWO

Next, think about the "bones" of your home. What’s the vibe? We're near the beach (and on a golf course!), so I love shaking things up by mixing modern pops of colour and bold patterns with solid block colours. We love a bit of mix and match around here!

STEP THREE

I love the psychology behind colour. Don’t worry, it’s not as scientific as it sounds! Focus on the colours that make you feel calm and happy. What shades do you naturally gravitate toward? Oscar Wilde summed it up when he said, “Mere colour can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways" and I believe this to be true. A personal favourite of mine is green (my namesake)! It's peaceful on the eye, creates harmony, balance and positivity while renewing and restoring depleted energies. This all makes perfect sense – after all, green is the shade to symbolise life.

STEP FOUR

Finally, take stock of what’s already in your bedroom. Check out the furniture, textures, artwork, and those little details like the curtains and bed linen. My bedroom is a combo of concrete, wood and cool tones - so it's the perfect neutral backdrop to go wild with colour. Let the existing elements guide your choices!
