Kim is an emerging artist based in Tasmania, where mountain views and shifting skies offer a quiet kind of calm and inspiration. With a background in photography and graphic design, she brings a strong sense of colour harmony, balance, and composition to her practice.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas and hand stitching, Kim creates expressive bloom paintings that explore the relationship between colour, emotion, and memory. Drawn to earthy tones, soft florals, and bold pops of colour, her work is intuitive, layered, and thoughtful — a reflection of the small moments and seasonal shifts that often go unnoticed.
Still early in her art journey, Kim brings decades of experience in the creative industries to her practice. She is focused on developing collections that feel cohesive, heartfelt, and honest — work that celebrates the beauty found in everyday life.
FAVE SONG?
Honestly, I wish I could say something super cool and meaningful, but the truth is I love so many different songs. Anything from deep house to Etta James, as long as it is uplifting. Right now,' Wanna Be Somewhere With You' by Rules and 'Reverie' by Innerverse are both on repeat.
FAVE MOVIE?
Definitely Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show - basically anything by Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy. Also, The Notebook. I know, total cliché. But it gets me every single time.
FAVE RECIPE?
There are so many I love, but I always keep it simple. I am not an amazing cook and do not love spending hours in the kitchen so I like things fresh and easy. Summer is all about barbecued barramundi and salad. Winter means vegetable curries or a good seafood chowder. Yum!
FAVE MOMENT?
Not so much a moment, but moments. Spending time adventuring with my family. We are so lucky to live in Tasmania, there is so much to explore right here. Camping at Cockle Creek, hiking around Wineglass Bay, and road tripping in the campervan to find magic little spots like Eddystone Point and Friendly Beaches. It really is the dream.
FAVE HOBBY?
I absolutely love being outdoors. Camping, hiking, mountain biking, absolutely anything ocean related - that is my happy place. On the flip side, I also love being at home in the studio, painting and creating, with my dogs curled up nearby and the mountains in view. It is my calm. I am always inspired by nature - trees, flowers, changing skies - even though I am a terrible gardener. I just love being surrounded by it all. For me, anything creative and anything outdoors, that is the sweet spot.
FAVE PIECES?
Really drawn to browns and pinks at the moment. Britta is my top pick, closely followed by Greer. I may be biased, but they are the perfect pair.
