Margie Delahunty Spencer is a full time Ballarat-based artist who also spends time in her coastal studio. She formally studied both painting and ceramics. Her current body of works have evolved from an exploration of her ‘role’ in life. The domestic vessels she uses every day to plant, gather, harvest, eat and cook are represented in this body of work. The environment she spends her time in with her husband and four adult children, also influence these joyful renditions of still life. Delahunty Spencer uses bright strong brushstrokes and quick movements with lots of layers, creating works like sketches with paint.
2010 documentary film directed by street artist, Banksy, tells the story of the French immigrant Thierry Guetta in Los Angeles.
