Jasmine Forcadilla, an Australian Filipina artist from the Central Coast, has been surrounded by creativity since childhood. With a profound love for creation, she finds peace in artistic expression. As a 'mestiza', Jasmine uses art to explore and reconcile her cultural identity. Her ongoing 'Spirit Animal' series celebrates individuality and the complexities of identity. Her paintings capture the quirky imperfections of humankind through whimsical nuances and anthropomorphic animals in a fun and playful manner.

This is a tough one. It would have to be either 'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits or 'Somebody Else' by the 1975. I’m also a big Kanye West fan (controversial, I know).
FAVE MOVIE?
Wes Anderson's 'Fantastic Mr Fox' and Studio Ghibli’s 'Spirited Away' are equal faves.
FAVE RECIPE?
My Lola’s adobo or anything from the Coconut Skies recipe book by fellow coastie and Filipina, Yasmin Newman.
FAVE MOMENT?
Graduating from my college in California was pretty epic. I was over there studying on a Div 1 scholarship for basketball. It was a very special day and chapter of my life.
FAVE HOBBY?
Basketball - it’s taken me all over the world and I’ve met some lifelong friends through it.
FAVE PIECE?
‘Angel Cakes’ takes the cake with its custom made wavy frame. I was so tempted to keep this piece all to myself!
