Sunshine Coast Ceramicist, Julie Laidlaw is the curator behind the studio “The Clay Society”
A former emergency nurse, Julie started creating with clay as a relaxing therapy and decided to hang up her scrubs permanently, as she fell in love with the art world.
Hand built and wheel throw pieces, inspired by her coastal surroundings, line the shelves of her Hinterland studio.
With a focus on conscious consuming, and supporting Aboriginal health projects Julie is inspired to curate non-functional and functional pieces that capture her love of natural elements and tones.
