Mitchell English is an award-winning, Noosa-based artist.
His work is unapologetically Australian. Through his depictions of idealised, coastal imagery, he perfectly portrays our signature laid-back lifestyle, and our yearning for space and freedom.
"I made a decision after school to never live more than walking distance from the beach. I've stuck to that, and it's clear to see that it’s been a major influence on my work."
Mitch has been a Finalist in the Geelong Contemporary Art Prize, Fleurieu Biennale, Mosman Art Prize, Paddington Art Prize, Shirley Hannan National Portrait Prize and the Clayton Utz Art Award, among other prizes.
He’s had tens of solo shows (national and international), more than thirty group shows and his work is held in public and private collections around the world including Sydney's Powerhouse museum.
