Courtenay Tyrrell studied a degree in fashion and became mesmerised by the beauty of jellyfish. She moved to Europe after graduating where she lived and worked in Stockholm for 4 years before returning to Melbourne to start MAUDE. By that stage she had developed an obsession with the magic of the underwater world which now features heavily in her accessories design in the form of iridescence, bright colours and all things shiny.
