Framed artworkย refers to an art piece that has been professionally enclosed in aย timber frame, such as anย oak timber shadow box frame. This style of frame adds depth by spacing the artwork slightly away from the edge of the stretched canvas or mounted paper with glass, creating a clean, modern look while protecting the piece. The timber frame not only enhances the natural beauty of the artwork but also adds a refined, gallery-style finishโ€”ready to hang and enjoy.

UNFRAMED

Anย unframed paintingย refers to an artwork that has beenย professionally stretched over a timber stretcher bar, without an external decorative frame. While it doesnโ€™t have a traditional outer frame, the canvas is tightly mounted andย ready to hangย as is, offering a clean, modern presentation that highlights the edges of the artwork. This style is popular for its minimalist, gallery-style look.

READY TO HANG

Aย ready to hangย artwork is fully prepared for immediate display. For canvas pieces, this means the artwork isย professionally stretched over a timber stretcher barย and does not include an outer timber frame, creating a clean and taut surface. It also comes fitted withย secure hanging hardwareโ€”such as a wire, D-rings, or hooksโ€”so you can hang it straight on the wall, right out of the box.ย 

UNFRAMED & ROLLED IN TUBE

This means the original painting isย not framed andย has been carefully rolled inside a tube with protective layers for safe transportation. This is common for oversees shipments to save on freight costs. Once the customer receives the tube, the artwork should then be opened by a professional framer as soon as possible, to avoid any potential damage. Canvas and Paper artworks are fragile and must be treated with professional care.
