Ceramic work by Margie Delahunty Spencer. Margie is a local Australian artist and has been represented nationally and internationally, she is well known for her bold coloured semi -abstracts created using large gestural marks . Margie works full time as an artist in her purpose built studio. She finds inspiration from her love of the coast, family, gardens and interiors.
This work is one of a series created called the sister pots. These vessels are non functional pieces fired to earthenware temperatures, and hand built and painted . They are named after her five sisters and her mother.
The works are a joyous interpretation of her beautiful bond with her sisters.
