NOTE:

  • In Australia we use the metric measuring system. The most common units of measurement for artworks are:  Centimetres "CM" or Millimetres "MM".
  • Use this table as a guide to convert metric units, "CM" or "MM" into INCHES ("). 
  • Inch measurements have been rounded to nearest whole number. For example - 100cm = 39.37 inches or 39" in the above table.

Artwork Framing Definitions

FRAMED

Framed artwork refers to an art piece that has been professionally enclosed in a timber frame, such as an oak timber shadow box frame. This style of frame adds depth by spacing the artwork slightly away from the edge of the stretched canvas or mounted paper with glass, creating a clean, modern look while protecting the piece. The timber frame not only enhances the natural beauty of the artwork but also adds a refined, gallery-style finish—ready to hang and enjoy.

UNFRAMED

An unframed painting refers to an artwork that has been professionally stretched over a timber stretcher bar, without an external decorative frame. While it doesn’t have a traditional outer frame, the canvas is tightly mounted and ready to hang as is, offering a clean, modern presentation that highlights the edges of the artwork. This style is popular for its minimalist, gallery-style look.

READY TO HANG

A ready to hang artwork is fully prepared for immediate display. For canvas pieces, this means the artwork is professionally stretched over a timber stretcher bar and does not include an outer timber frame, creating a clean and taut surface. It also comes fitted with secure hanging hardware—such as a wire, D-rings, or hooks—so you can hang it straight on the wall, right out of the box. 

UNFRAMED & ROLLED IN TUBE

This means the original painting is not framed and has been carefully rolled inside a tube with protective layers for safe transportation. This is common for oversees shipments to save on freight costs. Once the customer receives the tube, the artwork should then be opened by a professional framer as soon as possible, to avoid any potential damage. Canvas and Paper artworks are fragile and must be treated with professional care.

Limited edition giclee art reproduction of an original painting by Chris de Hoog, printed on either paper or canvas in two different size options.

Print on paper - giclee art print using archival pigment inks on natural cotton rag.

Print on canvas - giclee art print using archival pigment inks on high quality 350gsm canvas.

Only 10 editions available for each size.

Paper prints are numbered and signed by Chris. Canvas prints come with a certificate of authenticity.

Artwork is unframed and shipped in industrial strength art-tube.

Paper sizes are inclusive of a white border. Canvas size includes additional canvas for stretching and framing. Both are unframed, however you can order framing online via Greenhouse Interiors - see below.

Giclée Fine Art Print

A giclée fine art print is a high-quality reproduction of an original artwork, created using professional inkjet printers that spray (“giclée” comes from the French word gicler, meaning “to spray or squirt”) extremely fine droplets of pigment-based ink onto archival paper or canvas.
