Elizabeth Primmer is a contemporary Australian Artist working from her studio in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Drawn to the natural world and its paradoxes of fragility and resilience, stillness and flux, she creates work in which memory, the felt experience, and imagination converge to evoke feeling through gestural mark-making and colour. Place itself plays a pivotal role in Elizabeth’s energetic and expressive oil paintings, informed by her formative years spent on the coast and by two decades living in NSW’s central west.
Elizabeth was most recently named a finalist in the Hornsby Art Prize and has previously been a finalist in the Hunter’s Hill Art Award, the Calleen Art Award, and the Mission to Seafarers Award, where she was also shortlisted in the PB Towage People’s Choice Award. Her work is held in public and private collections both nationally and internationally.
