Lucy Rice in Snell’s Beach, North Auckland. Her striking abstract acrylic works weave together physical and emotional landscapes as one.She has a BFA from Elam School of Fine Arts and her work is represented across top New Zealand and Australia galleries. Lucy received a Highly Commended distinction at the 2025 New Zealand Painting & Printmaking Awards. 

Lucy enriches her acrylic base with layers of oil pastel, enhancing form and sensation in her pieces. Her palette draws from natural earth tones, emotional responses and nostalgic memories-  reflecting her deep connection to expressive brushwork and layered compositions.
