Montana Moore is a Sydney-based artist known for her dimensional, mixed media works that sit between painting and sculpture. Her practice explores the interplay of texture, light and material, with each piece balancing movement and stillness, presence and softness.
Shaping multi-layered works through a slow, considered, and intuitive process of sculpting, casting and painting, her work reflects a sensitivity to space and emotional connection. Inspired by the natural environment and the quiet power of colour and form, Montana’s evolving style is grounded in both precision and discovery.
Much of her work is rooted in emotional reflection, quietly exploring memory, growth and the subtleties of human experience. She has exhibited across Australia and internationally, with works held in collections on every continent.

I have ADHD, as a lot of people do, so honestly my favourite song changes most weeks after I’ve listened to it on repeat for weeks at a time while painting. This weeks favourite has been “Life” by Des’ree.
FAVE MOVIE?
Gladiator! I used to be obsessed with Peter Pan when I was younger.
FAVE RECIPE?
24hr Slow Roast Greek Lamb! I don’t tend to follow recipes at all, but my mum's recipe of this is to die for!
FAVE MOMENT?
Very grateful that I've had so many amazing moments already in life! A bit cheesy but the first time I met my soon to be husband 7 years ago. One moment that’s changed the course of my life in so many ways, most importantly his support in pushing me to follow my dreams of being an artist.
FAVE HOBBY?
Cooking or fishing! I spend most of my very little spare time in the studio, kitchen or water.
FAVE PIECES?
I try not to play favourites with the pieces since they’re all so dear to me, HOWEVER, Crave is a standout for me personally. The technique has been in the making for over 2 years and after MANY failed attempts and refining, I’m so happy that it’s come together exactly how I imagined.
