“Earth Darlings” is a constantly evolving body of work, Hand-crafted in the Sunshine Coast Australia by Madeline King (BA Visual Arts - Ceramics USQ). Earth Darlings planters have been made to celebrate the the joys and quirks of owning household plants. They are painted to reference foliage motifs; the curves of a Flap Jack plant or the spikes of a Aloe. This planter has drainage holes that are carefully concealed within the vessel. By placing a small dish inside of the base of this planter, you can avoid experiencing drips of water that would otherwise end up on furniture.
Please be aware that, being completely handmade, there are aesthetic qualities to this work that aren't like factory produced wares. Each vessel will not be completely symmetrical. The clay is a combination of hand dug clay, commercial Australian clay and local iron oxide, so it will have texture. And the wet clay is drawn into, so there may be slightly sharp ridges on the surface. These elements are a celebration of the materials and expressive mark making.
Measuring approximately 17 x 23 cms.
