Gaagal Miirlarl (Ocean Special-Place) is an original artwork created by Australian mother-daughter art duo Miimi & Jiinda, founded by Lauren Jarrett and Melissa Greenwood. As proud Gumbaynggirr custodians, Lauren and Melissa love to share their interpretations of Country, which spring from their own personal cultural identities as Aboriginal women.
This painting is a birds-eye view of the Gaagal (ocean), looking through the beautiful bushes down to the sand and the sea. It carries with it the essence and healing energy of the Gaagal, as the Gaagal is a place to cleanse your spirit.
