2026 Art Prize - Terms & Conditions

1. Definition of Artwork

1.1. For the purposes of this Art Prize, an “Artwork” means an original, one-of-a-kind piece of art created by the entrant, comprising one of the following:

  • A painting (in any medium);
  • A photograph;
  • A wall sculpture;
  • Wall décor; or
  • A wall hanging.

1.2. The Artwork must be an original work and not a reproduction, print, editioned print, digital reproduction, or mechanically reproduced work of any kind.

1.3. Limited edition prints, open edition prints, giclée reproductions, and commercially reproduced works are not eligible for entry.


2. Eligibility

2.1. The Art Prize is open to artists aged eighteen (18) years and over at the time of entry.

2.2. Entrants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens at the time of submission.

2.3. Existing artists currently working with or represented by Greenhouse Interiors are eligible to enter.

2.4. Entrants must be the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted Artwork.

2.5. Employees of Greenhouse Interiors, members of the judging panel, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.


3. Entry Conditions

3.1. Artists may submit one (1) Artwork per room category.

3.2. Artists may enter both categories, with a maximum of two (2) total submissions.

3.3. Each submission must respond specifically to the room image and designated wall space provided by Greenhouse Interiors.

3.4. Each Artwork must, at the time of entry, be available for sale.

3.5. Entries must be submitted between 1 March 2026 and 9:00pm on 30 April 2026 (AEST). Late submissions will not be accepted.

3.6. Submitted works must meet the definition of “Artwork” in clause 1 and must not:

  • Infringe upon any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights;
  • Contain defamatory, offensive or unlawful material;
  • Have been generated wholly by artificial intelligence without substantial artistic authorship.

3.7. By entering, the artist warrants that:

  • The submission is their original work;
  • They have full rights to grant the usage licence outlined in these Terms & Conditions;
  • The Artwork is available for sale and accurately represented in the submission.


4. Submission Requirements

4.1. Artists must submit:

  • A high-resolution digital image of the Artwork (JPG or PNG file format – maximum 3MB in size);
  • Artwork dimensions (in centimetres);
  • Artwork medium and materials;
  • Artwork recommended retail price ($RRP) in AUD;
  • Full name and contact details;
  • A short description outlining the inspiration behind the Artwork.
  • Short bio about the Artist


5. Key Dates

5.1. Submissions open: 1 March 2026.

5.2. Submissions close: 9:00pm on 30 April 2026 (AEST).

5.3. Finalists announced: Sunday, 24 May 2026.

5.4. Winners announced: Sunday, 31 May 2026.

5.5. The Winners Exhibition will take place in November 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed by Greenhouse Interiors). 

5.6. Greenhouse Interiors reserves the right to amend these dates if necessary.


6. Judging & Selection

6.1. Five (5) finalists will be selected per room category.

6.2. One (1) winner will be selected per room category.

6.3. Winners will be announced publicly via the official Greenhouse Interiors Instagram account on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

6.4. Winners will be contacted directly via email to arrange prize fulfilment and exhibition participation.

6.5. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.


7. Judging Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated on:

  1. Style and cohesion
  2. Colour composition
  3. Scale and proportion


8. Prize

8.1. Each category winner will receive:

  • AUD $2,000 cash prize;
  • Feature in Greenhouse Interiors photoshoots;
  • 12 months mentorship by Julia Green;
  • Editorial coverage across Greenhouse Interiors social media platforms (350K) and other media partners;
  • Consideration for representation in Australia and US markets;
  • Opportunity to collaborate on a lifestyle capsule collection;
  • Participation in the November 2026 Greenhouse Interiors Art Prize Exhibition.

 

8.2. As part of the prize, each winner agrees to participate in the official Greenhouse Interiors Art Prize Exhibition to be held in November 2026.

8.3. Each winner must contribute a minimum of six (6) and maximum of twelve (12) original Artworks for the exhibition.

8.4. All exhibition Artworks must be original works created by the winner and must be available for sale by 1st November 2026.

8.5. Prize money will be paid via electronic funds transfer within thirty (30) days of winner confirmation. Payment will be made in Australian dollars (AUD).

8.6. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.

8.7. Any taxation obligations arising from receipt of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

8.8. Representation and collaboration opportunities are offered at the discretion of Greenhouse Interiors and do not constitute guaranteed commercial contracts.


9. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

9.1. Artists retain copyright in their submitted Artwork.

9.2. By entering, artists grant Greenhouse Interiors a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to:

  • Publish and promote the Artwork in the context of the Art Prize if selected as a finalist or winner;
  • Use the Artwork in marketing, editorial, digital, social media and press materials in relation to the Art Prize;
  • Display the Artwork in connection with the Art Prize category room image and, where applicable, the November 2026 exhibition.

9.3. This licence is ongoing and includes use in future promotional materials relating to the Art Prize.

9.4. Artists consent to their name, likeness and Artwork being used for publicity purposes.

9.5. Greenhouse Interiors will credit the artist wherever reasonably practicable.


10. Moral Rights

10.1. Artists assert their moral rights in the work.

10.2. Greenhouse Interiors agrees not to intentionally alter the Artwork in a way that is prejudicial to the artist’s honour or reputation.


11. Liability

11.1. Greenhouse Interiors is not responsible for:

  • Lost, late or corrupted submissions;
  • Technical issues preventing entry;
  • Any costs incurred by artists in preparing, delivering or submitting their work, including exhibition delivery costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

11.2. To the extent permitted by law, Greenhouse Interiors excludes liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from participation in the Art Prize or exhibition.


12. Disqualification

Greenhouse Interiors reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:

  • Does not comply with these Terms & Conditions;
  • Contains false or misleading information;
  • Breaches any intellectual property rights;
  • Does not meet the definition of “Artwork” in clause 1;
  • Is not available for sale at the time of entry.


13. Variation & Cancellation

13.1. Greenhouse Interiors reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions, adjust timelines, or vary prize details if necessary.

13.2. Greenhouse Interiors reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Art Prize or exhibition in circumstances beyond its reasonable control.


14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with the Art Prize shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
